A conveying auger and motor feeds material to the spinner, which eliminates the need for chain maintenance. North American-made electric motors drive the auger and spinner. A variable speed control manages both motors from inside the cab, and provides a spread pattern up to 25' wide. A vibrator motor is part of the unit's standard equipment. Models have an approximate capacity of 2 cubic yards, and are available in 6' and 8' sizes. The spreader is available in 14 gauge carbon or stainless steel.
The Avalanche® G3
Electric Pickup and Flatbed V-Box Spreader with In-line Direct Drive
- It uses an in-line direct auger drive. This makes for more efficient power transfer than with angle gearbox systems.
- It's an auger-feed spreader. This simplifies maintenance and solves the conveyor problem of dragging wet salt under the unit. No more chain tension adjustment or extra bearings to maintain.
- It's a low profile spreader. With a height of only 29.5 inches, drivers can comfortably look out their rear window and see inside the v-box and beyond.
